Automatically fulfill bundle content (individual child item) SKUs in orders
When the contents of one or many bundles are broken out on orders, you can choose to fulfill these automatically. There are currently two ways a bundle's content items can be fulfilled in orders.
Always fulfilling all bundle's content items
If you would like to fulfill the bundle's content items regardless of the fulfillment status of the parent bundle SKU,
- Navigate to the Preferences tab
- Scroll down to the Fulfillment section
- Check the "Enable automatic fulfillment of bundle contents" and select "Always fulfill all bundle contents"
When a new order is created, the line items for the bundle content items that are added will be automatically fulfilled immediately after the line items are added to the order.
Possible use cases
This fulfillment workflow works best when you have auto-fulfillment of all orders enabled in Shopify settings under Checkout.
Only fulfilling a bundle's content items when parent bundle SKU is fulfilled
If you would like to fulfill the bundle's content items when the fulfillment status of the parent bundle SKU has changed to fulfilled,
- Navigate to the Preferences tab
- Scroll down to the Fulfillment section
- Check the "Enable automatic fulfillment of bundle contents" and select "Only fulfill bundle contents when parent bundle SKU is fulfilled"
As a result, when the bundle content items will be marked as fulfilled only when the bundle parent SKU is fulfilled.
Possible use cases
This fulfillment workflow works best when a POS is being used with your current Shopify setup and the products sold are automatically fulfilled. As a result, when the items are added to the order, these will be automatically fulfilled, only if the bundle parent SKU has been marked as fulfilled.
