How to share and monitor app function logs on Shopify
If you ever run into issues with bundles not breaking down properly, discounts not applying, or other functionality problems, you can share your function logs with our development team. In most cases, our team can now access function run logs directly, with no action needed from you. However, in some situations, manually sharing logs may still be helpful.
Good news: Manual log sharing is now optional in most cases!
- As of May 2026, Shopify now automatically gives app developers access to function run logs based on the permissions your store has already granted. This means our Simple Bundles team can often see the details we need to troubleshoot on our end, without any extra steps from you. If we do need anything additional from you, we'll reach out and let you know.
How to share app function logs manually
If our team requests that you manually share function logs, or if you’d like to share them proactively, here’s how:
Note: The Share logs button only appears when there are active function errors.
- From your Shopify Admin, go to Settings → Apps.
- Click Simple Bundles & Kits from the installed apps list.
- Do one of the following:
- On the app’s about page, click Share logs on the Functions card. This button is only visible when there are active function errors.
- Click the Functions card, then click Share logs in the error banner.
- In the dialog, click Share logs. The app’s activity from the last 24 hours is shared directly with the Simple Bundles team.
Share logs button not visible?
If you don’t see the Share logs button, it’s likely because there are no current function errors being detected. Try reproducing the issue first to trigger the error again, then return to Settings → Apps → Simple Bundles & Kits to check if the error banner and Share logs button appear.
Note: Function logs may contain sensitive personally identifying information, such as customer names, phone numbers, and delivery addresses. Only share logs with developers you trust.
