Create bundles with a subscription plan in Shopify

You can use most subscriptions apps on the app store to sell a subscription on a bundle. Currently, you can only sell a bundle with a subscription plan and cannot have a subscription-only product in a bundle.

Bundle subscription configuration

• Bundle with a subscription plan [SUPPORTED]: When setting up a subscription on a bundle, all products added on the bundle should be available to be purchased outside a subscription
• Single sale Bundle with subscription products [NOT SUPPORTED] : Setting up a single sale bundle with products that have ONLY a subscription price cannot be sold and will lead to errors when the items are added to the order.

Shopify Checkout Integration (v2)

If you are currently using a subscription app that utilizes Shopify Checkout Integration for subscriptions, then your bundle items will be added to the orders with the subscription products. Most subscriptions apps refer to this as Version 2 (V2) or Shopify Checkout Integration. 

You will also see the order header section without the text (via import).

Subscriptions Checkout on Shopify via import (v1)

If you are currently using a subscription app that utilizes the older Shopify Checkout for subscriptions, then your bundle items will be added to an associated order with the subscription product reference only. More details on this can be found here: https://help.simplebundles.io/article/67-how-to-handle-orders-that-cannot-be-edited-by-shopify

Most subscriptions apps refer to this as Version 1 (V1) or Subscription Checkout on Shopify.

You will also see the order header section with the text  (via import).
