Creating the child item product with size & color options on Shopify
First, create the item/product you would like to add to your bundle on your Shopify Admin. Add the size and color variants, and set the quantities, price and SKUs (optional):
How to determine which method to use
When using the Infinite Options bundle type in v2.0, you have two methods to choose from: 'Quickly Build Using Existing Product Variants' and 'Manually Build by Creating New Product Options for High Customization.'
As the name suggests, the 'Quickly Build' method allows you to select the child item, and it will automatically add the product along with its variants. This method is ideal when the child item's name is short and clear, and there’s no need for additional customization.
On the other hand, if you want more control over the option names in the dropdown menu, the 'Manually Build' method is the way to go. This option lets you personalize the titles and variants to better suit your needs. While it requires a few extra steps, it’s perfect for cases where you need to simplify or customize the selectors for a more tailored experience.
Using the "Quickly build using existing product variants" assembly
Go to Simple Bundles > Build Bundle > Select the Infinite Options type > Choose “Create new product” or select one of your already existing products:
Once on the builder, set you price and then select Add products:
It’s important to note that selecting the 'Add product with variants' option will automatically generate dropdowns for each variant of the same product, which could lead to potential inventory issues when a variant runs out of stock.
Search for the product with variants you already created, select it with all its variants and click Add:
You can edit the name of your dropdown and preview how it will look:
If you want to add more dropdowns for the same option you can click on Duplicate and then change each dropdowns title:
- If you want to add more dropdowns for the same option you can click on Duplicate and then change each dropdowns title. If you want to add different products, you can repeat the step 2. Don’t forget to save your changes.
Using the "Manually build by creating new product options for high customization" assembly
Go to Simple Bundles > Build Bundle > Select the Infinite Options type > Choose “Create new product” or select one of your already existing products:
Once in the builder, set your price and then select the Manually build by creating new product options for high customization option:
Here, you will see the Option group that will allow you to manually set the names of the dropdown and all the variants/products titles that will appear on it:
Please remember that if two attributes, such as type and color, are linked to a single product, they should be placed in the same dropdown. This ensures accurate inventory management, rather than splitting the options into two separate dropdowns.
To do this, please write both attributes separated by a slash or dash (e.g., Size/Color). Then, list all the different products separated by commas, like this (each comma will create a separate option in the dropdown of your bundle):
If you want to add more options, you can copy and paste the previous info on a new Option group, but remember to change the Option names:
Once you’re done, click on “Continue to add products” and add all the products according to the respective attributes:
Remember to save your changes, set up the Infinite Options selectors on your product pages, and test the bundle on your Online Store.
