Building an infinite options bundle

📝 For the infinite options bundle type, you must add an options selector widget to your product page to enable customers to select options. Unlike simple bundle types, infinite options bundles do not use Shopify's native variants and theme selectors, necessitating the addition of the infinite options selector.

This help document outlines the process for creating an infinite options bundle with Simple Bundles 2.0. For guidance on constructing an infinite options bundle using version 1.0, refer here.

A simple bundle vs. an infinite options bundle on V2.0

On Simple Bundles, there are two bundle builders: Simple Bundles and Infinite Options bundles.

  • The Simple Bundles builder is recommended for bundles with a fixed set of products or limited bundle variants (does not exceed Shopify's 100 variant and 3 option limit).
  • The Infinite Options Bundles builder is recommended for bundles that exceed Shopify's 100 variant and 3 option limit or require more complex bundle offerings such as mix-and-match bundles.

You can find an example of a mix-and-match bundle in the demo store:

    2. A Typical Mix-and-match using the Infinite Options Builder

Setting up the infinite options selectors on product page

Since the infinite options bundle type doesn't use Shopify's native variants, the option selector will have to be added to your product display pages.

Step 1: Enable Bundle Options Selector

Navigate to the Theme Editor or Customize option in your theme settings. Enable the bundle options selector within your app embed. Now you're ready to start selling your bundles! 🚀

If options aren't displayed after enabling, proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Add app block for Online Store 2.0 themes

This step is suited for stores utilizing Online Store 2.0 themes that support adding blocks to product pages. Follow the detailed steps provided here. If your current theme doesn't support app block addition or it results in duplicated option displays, revert the changes made in Step 1 to remove the redundancy.

Step 3: Manual installation for Online Store 1.0 themes

If Steps 1 and 2 don't apply to your store's theme (typically Online Store 1.0 themes), manual installation of the options is necessary. Instructions for this process are available here.
