Enabling automatic fulfillment of bundle SKUs

Automatically mark your bundle SKU as fulfilled so that it does not get sent to your fulfillment centre.

How to enable automatic fulfillment of bundle SKUs

  1. Go to Simple Bundles → Settings.
  2. Select Advanced Settings.
  3. Scroll to Cart Transform and Order Editing Fallbacks.
  4. Enable Automatic fulfillment of bundle SKUs.

Once your customer adds a product to cart, they would see the bundle product, but not its individual bundled SKUs.

On Shopify, you would see the bundle SKU marked as fulfilled. The rest of its contents would remain unfulfilled until you and your team pick, pack, and mark these individual SKUs as fulfilled.

Note: If you're on Simple Bundles 1.0, this same setting is found under Preferences, scroll to the Fulfillment section and check Enable automatic fulfillment of bundle SKUs.

Important note on cancelling orders

If you need to cancel an order and try to unfulfill the parent bundle SKU shortly after the order is created, this will not work as expected and can result in a re-fulfillment loop.

This happens because our app continues to process and may re-edit the order within the first hour after it's created. If the bundle SKU is unfulfilled during this window, the app will detect the change and automatically re-fulfill it again, preventing the cancellation from going through.

Recommendation: Wait until at least one hour has passed since the order was created before unfulfilling and cancelling it. After this processing window has passed, the app will no longer attempt to modify the order, so the unfulfillment will stick, and the cancellation can be completed successfully.
