Integrating the Simple Bundles with your Shopify POS
Simple Bundles works seamlessly with Shopify POS, allowing you to sell and configure bundles directly in your physical store. This guide covers everything you need to know to get set up and troubleshoot common issues.
This guide works with Simple Bundles version 2.0 and 1.0
What you need to know
A few things to keep in mind before getting started:
- The POS app extension for Infinite Options bundles is available on paid plans only.
- If Simple Bundles loads indefinitely or won’t open on your POS device, your software may be out of date. We recommend running iOS 15.1 or higher, or the latest available version of Android. For Shopify’s full list of supported devices, refer to: Getting Started with Hardware for Shopify POS.
- For Simple bundle types, you do not need the Simple Bundles app tile. The bundle SKUs will break down at checkout automatically.
- The app tile is only required for Infinite Options bundles, where customers need to select their options before checkout.
In collaboration with the Shopify POS team, Simple Bundles now supports split line items for dynamic bundles. POS can split a single bundle into multiple line items at checkout, making it easier to itemize individual components while maintaining bundle logic.
How to add the Simple Bundles tile to POS
To sell Infinite Options bundles in store, you’ll first need to add the Simple Bundles tile to your Shopify POS smart grid.

- Navigate to your Shopify POS home and select Add tile.
- On the Add app page, click Simple Bundles.
- Choose Infinite Options bundle selector for Shopify, then click Add.
- The Simple Bundles tile should now be visible in your POS smart grid.
Also ensure that your Shopify settings are configured to allow compatibility with the Simple Bundles app and your Shopify POS.
How to use the Simple Bundles app with POS
Once the tile is added, here’s what your workflow will look like:
- On Shopify POS, add an Infinite Options bundle to the cart.
- Open the Simple Bundles extension and select the options according to your customer’s preferences.
- (Optional) Duplicate the bundle and choose different options if needed.
- Proceed with checkout as normal.
New POS experience: Configure bundles directly in the cart using Shopify's cart line item
With the old POS extension flow, users had to return to the Shopify POS home screen and open the Simple Bundles tile to configure a bundle.
With this updated POS extension, bundle configuration is now much more seamless. Users can simply tap the bundle line item directly in the cart to select or edit the bundle items before checkout. Since the configuration starts from the cart line item, the extension already knows which bundle is being edited, making the experience faster, clearer, and more intuitive.
- Open Shopify POS and add the bundle product to the cart.
- Go to Cart. Tap "Infinite options bundle selector for Simple Bundles" to select the necessary options for the bundle.
- Once you’ve selected the options, you’ll see the bundle split into individual line items in the cart. To edit your selections, tap the “Infinite Options Bundle Selector” extension, then update the options as needed.
- Return to the cart and confirm the bundle options are now configured correctly.
- Proceed with checkout as normal.

With this updated POS extension, users can tap the bundle in the cart and use the extension to select or edit bundle items before checkout.
- Go to POS settings in your store
- Select our "Infinite options bundle selector for Shopify POS" app
- Click on " Add " for Additional areas
Troubleshooting:
Why are bundles not appearing in the app?
- Select "Reload" from the top bar of the app.
- Ensure the bundle product has been added to your cart.
- Verify that the bundle is an Infinite Options bundle. The app tile only facilitates the selection of options for Infinite Options bundles. The Simple Bundle type can be selected by directly choosing the variants of your bundle and does not require the extension to work on POS.
Why can’t my staff members access the app in the POS?

This usually means the staff account doesn’t have permission to use Simple Bundles in Shopify POS.
A store owner or admin needs to update staff permissions:
- Go to Shopify Admin → Settings
- Open Users and permissions
- Click the staff member’s name
- Enable Manage and install apps and channels
- Make sure Simple Bundles is checked
- Save your changes
Once permissions are updated, the staff member can access Simple Bundles in POS.
Limitations: Simple Bundles POS limitation with Shopify sales attribution
Sales Attribution Compatibility: Currently, Simple Bundles 2.0 is not compatible with Shopify POS when using sales attribution features during checkout. If sales attribution is enabled, you will not be able to select or break down infinite options bundles.
Solution: To resolve this issue, you can either:
- Manually remove sales attribution for staff before completing the checkout. Follow these steps:
- In the cart, tap the product where staff attribution has been added.
- Tap Sold by.
- Tap Clear or select a new staff.
- Tap Save.
- Disable sales attribution in your POS settings to avoid being prompted at checkout:
- Navigate to your Shopify POS settings.
- Select Sales Attribution.
- Choose the option Not required, which will disable staff attribution prompts at checkout.
