Example: Creating a bundle with size and colour options
Allow customers to choose sizes and colours for items within a bundle.
This example is similar to the mix-and-match example. However, the example here has product size and colour variants. This bundle type is especially popular for apparel products.
Step 1
Start by creating your product and its options in Shopify. This product will later become your bundle in Simple Bundles.
Step 2
Then, go to the Variants section of the Add product page and select Add variant. Here, you can add in the options that your customers can select from. Here, I've added 3 size options for two of the bundled items, plus 3 colour variants. This means I'll have 3*3*3 = 27 different variants or combinations.
💡 In Shopify, you can create only up to 100 variants for a product and each product can have up to 3 options. The variant and option limits can only be increased by using a third-party app from the Shopify App Store. Currently, Simple Bundles does not support over 100 variants but will in the near future.
Step 3
Next, go to Simple Bundles and select Build bundle in the Bundles tab. Find the product you just created. Once you select the product, you will also see that the combinations (all 27) are selected as well. Click Add.
Step 4
Now, you can start adding individual SKUs to each of the options. For this scenario, my bundle variant is,
His & Hers Apron set - S/S/Green.
To add the individual SKUs, select Add products in the Products section and find each of these individual SKU.
- Classic Apron - Green (His/Small)
- Classic Apron - Green (Hers/Small)
Next, you can adjust the quantity of each of the individual SKUs and the price of the bundle! In this case, the quantity for each item remains as 1.
Note: if you are not selling these individual SKUs individually, make sure they are not available on your storefront and can only be sold as a bundle. Here's how you can set this up: Adding SKUs sold exclusively through bundles.
Lastly, you can do the same for the other bundle variants on the left-hand sidebar.
To see what this bundle might look like on your storefront, see Step 4 of Example: Creating mix-and-match bundles.
