Managing advanced settings in Simple Bundles 2.0
This guide explains where to find advanced options that let you control how bundles behave across order fulfillment, inventory management, version migration, and other advanced configurations.
To access these settings, go to Simple Bundles app → Settings → Advanced settings → Manage Advanced settings.
Use this manual sync to update the bundle’s weight based on the total weight of its items. This is required for weight-based shipping rates. Infinite Options bundles are excluded and must be updated manually in Shopify.
When enabled (default), these line item properties appear in orders and may be needed for packing slips, order confirmation emails, or third-party fulfillment and workflow apps. Customers will also see this information in their order summary. Turn this off if you want to hide these details.
- Shopify order tags
This setting lets you manage how Shopify tags are automatically added to orders that contain bundles.
This setting allows you to automatically add bundle information to order metafields for use with third-party apps and custom workflows. This feature is available only on the Advanced and Plus plans.
- Cart transform and order editing fallbacks
This setting lets you control how bundle orders are processed and fulfilled in cases where the cart transform function does not run.
Two major areas under cart transform and order editing fallbacks
- Order processing when the cart transform function doesn’t run
You can now choose how bundle orders should be handled in Shopify if the cart transform fails to run, causing the bundle items to remain unbroken at checkout. Learn more.
There are now two fallback methods available for bundle orders:
-
Enable order editing as a fallback
This option adds the bundle items to the order after checkout using Shopify's order editing API. If the order can be edited, the bundle contents are added directly to the original order. If the order can’t be edited, Simple Bundles creates a new associated order with the bundle contents instead.
-
Enable single sku inventory sync fallback
This does not add the bundle contents to the order. Instead, it simply updates inventory for the bundle’s components when the bundle is purchased.
- Order fulfillment when the cart transform function doesn’t run
You can now control how bundle orders are fulfilled in Shopify and with third-party integrations when bundle contents cannot be split at checkout.
- Enable automatic fulfillment of bundle SKU - This setting ensures the bundle product itself (the parent SKU) is auto-fulfilled when the order is placed. It does not impact the fulfillment of the individual components inside the bundle.
- Enable automatic fulfillment of bundle contents - This controls fulfillment for the individual items (components) within the bundle.
- Request fulfillment for all order items- If enabled, this setting sends a fulfillment request for all items in the order, once bundle contents are added. This is useful when using custom fulfillment services or third-party logistics.
- Migrate to Simple Bundles 1.0
You can manage your Simple Bundles app version using this setting, which allows you to switch between Simple Bundles 1.0 and 2.0
